Jorge Retamoza is an absolutely personal saxophonist, musician and teacher. His continuous search is today a signature registered in tango world. His stylistic development, his role as a composer and his contribution to the genre not only from the repertoire but also from his instrument, has managed to revitalize the saxophone in Argentina and for those saxophonists who are interested in tango around the world, with phrasings, riffs and designs of every degree of difficulty, which are not applied  until the insertion of Retamoza in the current music scene. All these items generate a unique book. In this work, you will find all the necessary elements (with theoretical and practical explanations, including a broad glossary of audios played by the author) that will allow you not only to acquire the ductility and technique to play the instrument with pleasure. Also, for the first time, you will apply the gestures typical of tango through the saxophone with the precision of the style of Salgán, Federico, Troilo, Grela, Marconi, Piazzolla or the author. Bend, glissandos, portamentos, slaps, frullatos, arrangements and transcriptions of the mentioned authors are a tool displayed equally in these pages of this book, and in the audios, allowing you to approach these concepts with dynamism and resources. It is good to point out that Jorge Retamoza’s work is directed to the four saxes but that the development of the chapters will be equally attractive and useful for other wind instruments such as the flute, the clarinet, the oboe, etc. Melos is pleased to welcome Jorge and bring you this new tool that we believe will be of permanent consultation, interest and enjoyment.
